Wheatley Transition Classrooms
Alyssa Tamargo
Transition 1 Teacher (503) 262-4008 [email protected] Hello everyone! My name is Alyssa, and I've been here at Wheatley since the 2014-15 school year. As a Transition teacher, my focus is on ensuring that all of my students have more independence in necessary real life skills at age 21 than they had when they started in my class at age 18. I have a particular passion for community instruction and believe that it is vital for that we support all of our students out there in the community regardless of the behavioral, cognitive, or physical challenges they may face. We also work with our students here on campus to help them gain the social, communication, and job skills that will help them as they move forward toward their life after school. I am fortunate to have a strong, caring, and creative team of educational assistants who work hard every day to provide the support our students need in their daily lives. |
John Mulholland
Transition 2 Teacher (503) 262-4001 [email protected] Hi everyone! I’m very excited about the upcoming year at Wheatley. This is my third year at the school but only my first full year as a teacher, having worked a year and a half as a behavioral support facilitator at Wheatley. I’m currently pursuing my masters degree in special education at Arizona State university. It’s my goal to work with students to develop skills for them to be able move through their communities with more autonomy and independence. I’m excited to work with you and your students in the transition 2 classroom to develop more opportunities for them to show their strengths! |
